What can I do if my lock will not open?

You arrive at your storage unit and the lock will not open. Now what? First we need to determine what type of lock you are using as each of them can have a different method of solving the problem.
Cylinder lock - This lock can be identified by it's shape and location. It is a cylinder shaped lock that fits completely inside of the latch.
Disc lock - This lock can be identified by it's round configuration but it protrudes out of the latch.
Combination lock - You will recognize this lock by it's dial with many numbers on the face of the lock.
Padlock - This lock has an exposed hasp and the key will generally be at the bottom of the lock.
